Crackle Cube Updater

Update the firmware on your Crackle Cube over USB, right from your browser.

Before you start

  1. Connect the Crackle Cube's USB port to your computer with a USB data cable (some charging-only cables won't work).
  2. Close any other app that might be using the Cube's serial port (Arduino IDE, serial monitors, other browser tabs).
  3. Keep the cable plugged in until the update says it's finished.

Install

Your browser will ask you to pick a serial port. Choose the one for the Crackle Cube (often called "USB JTAG/serial", "CP210x", "CH340" or "USB Serial").

Technical log

Trouble connecting?

  1. No port shows up: try another cable or USB port. On Windows you may need the CP210x or CH340 USB driver.
  2. "Failed to connect": hold the BOOT button on the ESP32 board, tap EN (some boards label it RST), release BOOT, then click install again.
  3. Stopped part-way: just run it again. The Cube can always be re-flashed.
